Summary

Farnell Packaging Limited is a family owned and operated flexible packaging manufacturer. We’ve been serving customers throughout North America since 1961. We are currently seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. As Senior Accountant you will own the general ledger, support month-end close and provide oversight to our AP and AR team members. This is a new role ideal for a new CPA or CPA candidate who is looking for a role with a clear career growth path.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the Controller with various daily, monthly, and yearly departmental functions including bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and analysis, month-end closing procedures, reports and audits
  • Maintain fixed asset continuity schedules
  • Customer rebate review and analysis
  • Prepare GST/HST fillings, Stats Canada fillings, payroll reconciliations and other statutory compliance requirements
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and review of AP and AR
  • Understanding of financial information systems and internal controls
  • Support the Controller in ad hoc analysis, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • CPA designation or actively enrolled in the CPA program
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with an ERP (Sage Intacct, Radius Packaging Suite or similar)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

  • On-site work location
  • Eight (8) hour shifts Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. May also work flexible hours based on internal/ external demand.
  • Office environment
