Summary:
The goal of this position is to efficiently manage, transport, receive and organize materials through the facilities (26, 30 Ilsley and 191 Joseph Zatzman Warehouse) and provide the service to all the production areas. Key duties include general warehouse activities: Shipping/receiving, loading/unloading trucks, operating machinery like forklifts, electric pallet Jacks and 5-ton truck, inventory counts and other warehouse related job tasks as assigned. This position must prioritize safety and maintain a clean, organized work
environment.
Job Duties:
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on the production schedule in a timely manner.
- Maintains in-process inventory at machines by delivering materials and supplies.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location, movements of inventory and reporting shortages.
- Maintains inventory accuracy completing monthly inventory counts, weekly cycle counts and spot checks.
- Work with other employees as a team when shipping, receiving, moving in-process materials and finished goods; actively communicates to effectively manage material flows and notify Shift Managers & Operators if there are issues or concerns.
- Maintains a clean and orderly warehouse environment; properly disposes of scrap packaging, cardboard, strapping, etc.; actively participates in waste reduction and recycling programs.
- Uses proper tools to remove strapping, uncrate equipment or supplies as necessary.
- Supports finished goods distribution through order picking, packing, wrapping, and shipping.
- Follows all safety, HACCP, CTPAT, and quality requirements.
- Demonstrates safe work practices, upholds Farnell Safety policies (e.g. completes incident reports follow-ups, wears p.p.e, etc.) and suggests improvements.
- Complete daily forklift and rack inspections; report any damage of equipment, tools or building to the Shift Manager.
- Follow the speed limits when using forklifts and 5-Ton truck.
- Load/unload trucks when necessary; signs applicable driver documentation.
- Keeps fire exits and aisles clear. Does snow-clearing, etc. to ensure safe exit for staff in the event of an emergency.
- Communicate with the suppliers to empty metal, wood and garbage containers.
- Empties balers, wraps and weights of poly or corrugate.
- Prepare and send end of shift report, communicating important and pending activities to the other crews.
- If possible, help to cover vacations and absences of other crews.
- Demonstrates a positive, constructive attitude to the position’s challenges.
- Seeks opportunities for further training / learning in order to increase job knowledge and skills.
- Participates actively in our Plantwide Continuous Improvement Program submitting ideas and suggestions.
- Supports planetary sustainability efforts, e.g. energy conservation (lights off, machines off when not in use, judicious use of heating and cooling, being innovative as we improve our processes, etc.)

Requirements:
- Education/Training
- High School diploma.
- Must hold a valid forklift operator license (Counterbalance, Walkie, Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license to use the 5-Ton Truck.
- Basic Computer Skills, knowledge of MS office 365, (knowledge of ERP Systems is an asset).
- Fall Protection Certification is an asset.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience as a forklift operator.
- Two (2) years’ experience in a production facility or warehouse is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Twelve (12) hour shifts; may also work eight (8) hour shifts depending on production demand
- Required to stand or drive forklift for long periods of time.
- May be required to drive 5-Ton truck.
- May be required to climb several flights of stairs
- Changing environmental conditions (Hot/ Cold)
- Some lifting is required
